We also enjoyed visiting Salamanca Place even though the markets weren't on at the time. The thing I like most about Hobart was that all of the attractions- beaches, marinas, good food, museums and botanic gardens, were within walkable distance. There were so many lovely parks and gardens, and my favorite of all; the number of significant buildings which have been restored and maintained and available for visitors to see. My partner and I are Octogenarians, and as such our needs and expectations may differ significantly to much younger persons. There was nothing that stood out as being particularly interesting to us; it was a visit just to see another another City and it's people. The hotel itself was very comfortable, my room was a lot more spacious than I was expecting and it has a bit of atmosphere about it being in an older period building. If you're catching the airport bus, stop number 4 is pretty much across the street, so very convenient.
