Nowhere to eat after dark except the Chinese restaurant which was extremely busy to the point where we waited an hour after being seated before our meal was fully served. The one restaurant we went into was empty of any staff so we left after waiting several minutes. The following night we bought a chicken and salad from Coles. We will not be visiting Inverell again any time soon.If you like to drink till midnight and have loud music then the old pub is the place for you. It's not our scene as I imagine it isn't for older tourists

I went to Inverell last Friday to do 5km "Parkrun" there on Saturday morning and to catch up with an old work friend who has retired there.
I loved the laid-back country town feel, and I enjoyed walking about looking at the quaint old buildings. It was refreshing to see the old wide streets and there no shortages of places to grab a coffee and something to eat. I particularly liked "Freckles Cafe" on Byron and Vivian Streets (Near taxi rank). They made a great cappuccino and the pancakes with fresh fruit were quite lovely. The manager there was terrific who I had a lovely chat with.
One thing to be aware of is Inverell is quite isolated, sort of in the middle of know where. If you are coming from the coast near Port Macquarie, you have to negotiate getting 45km's of windy road over the mountain range. You need allow extra time to do this.

Great people, easy to get to.
Great people, easy to get to. Plenty of accommodation and things to keep a 10 year occupied. Everything you need is there if you need it. two bug chain and independent supermarkets chain fast food and even a Hardly Normal. Just need a JB hi-fi and Officeworks to complete the trifecta. Great bicycle tracks and plenty of history to explore.

We were there for one of our regular visits to see our grandchildren. Inverell is a lovely town. We always have one meal at the RSM as the boys love it, the ice cream bar is a must do and the pizzas are really good.
The coffee at Clover and Co and Fill is really good, both are in Otto Street. Fill is open Sunday mornings as well.
I love a clothes shop, always seem to buy something.
The Pioneer Village is really worth a visit as well as the car museum.
The people that run the Pioneer Village are a wealth of knowledge on the local area and can give some good tips on where to go.
The markets are on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month (check that), they are small but fun.
There is a cinema and a ten pin bowls alley.
We love the Welders Dog in Otto Street for a drink and sometimes the have the food wagon , otherwise, you can take food in with you. If you have a group you can reserve a room there.

We love Inverell because we have our grandsons for the weekend there every couple of months. The Pioneer Village is fabulous, the caretakers there can advise you of all the local good things to do as well. We always take our boys to the RSM, the icecream bar is especially good. Shopping for the girls is terrific. It does get very hot in summer and very cold in winter. The auto museum is also worth visiting.

very clean and comfortable and modern update of the original hotel.
The bed and Ammenities were excellent .
The location was very good, parking was ok in front of the hotel .
The lift was appreciated for the second floor bedroom. The shared kitchen and laundry were very good, although We did not use it because of an overnight stay only .
The coffee shop catered for our needs for breakfast and coffee, which were first class and friendly staff and service
Very well appointed and comfortable historic cottage which has been tastefully refurbished. The cottage forms part of a beautiful historic homestead dating back to the beginning of the 1900s. Set in spacious gardens and quite close to the centre of Inverell (about a 10 minute walk). Very quiet location. Limited kitchen facilities for those wanting to self cater as there is no cooktop or oven, just a microwave.
