Stayed here while birding the tablelands. With pademelons at our doorstep, platypus in the river, possums on the prowl all night, boobook owls calling occasionally, emerald doves and king parrots coming in for bird feed, this is a very special hotel. We did not come across cassowary or tree kangaroo on the property, so they may be easy some months and more difficult the next. It was a constant rain for us over 4 days which may have played a role, but still had a very nice time in these cabins. Each of the standard cabins are along the river and isolated from each other, the family cabin has wifi and is in a separate area. No wifi or cell service otherwise. Lots to see in the area but even just staying at the hotel is great! Bring some banana for the feeder, you wouldn't want to disappoint the catbirds and riflebirds. Be warned that the trails can become very muddy and deep in the rain, so stop by the front desk for mud boots. We checked in after hours so didn't know this convenience was available early on!

Lovely motel in the middle of the Atherton Tablelands. Room was large and comfortable, kitchen well equipped with a microwave, toaster and kettle. There was a nice outdoor veranda with seating and large grounds to walk around (unfortunately it was raining). This place far exceeded our expectations and we wished we had stayed longer.

Beautifully presented Tiny House - the amenities, linen and inclusions were excellent. Firewood was supplied which was appreciated as we loved having a little fire pit.

This hostel was amazing! first of all an amazing location. In the middle of the tablelands and in the middle of this beautiful peaceful town Yungaburra. Close to peterson creek where around sunrise, sunset and after dark you can spot platypus, tree kangaroos, possums and other wildlife. They offer a nocturnal canoe trip too, where you spot wildlife after dark. this hostel is close to other beautiful places too: lake eacham, millaa millaa falls, curtain fig tree, cathedral fig tree, etc. The hostel itself is super clean, ecofriendly, and has really good facilities. Nice and cosy: feels like coming home. Easy to make friends in this place. Nice little garden where you can relax. Beds are comfy.

Staffs were all lovely, explaining about the facilities and all. Our highlight of the stay was that we were able to spot sugar gliders and striped possums so close from the night time observation deck.

I came here for a nature retreat with a lot of birds and my goodness did I find it! This is a magical place - rifle birds at breakfast (literally) and wonderful walks in the neighbourhood and rainforest paths. The house itself is a piece of rainforest history as it was the house where the famous bird artist Bill Cooper lived and did his paintings. There is even a bedroom where David Attenborough used to stay.. Dan was a really great guide and took us on a nocturnal tour looking for possums and other night wildlife. It did rain a bit so bring a raincoat. The room itself was great and super quiet, and the kitchen was fantastically well equipped (this is a place where you bring your own food because there is no restaurant at the lodge or in the nearby village. But plan ahead and this will be a visit to remember.

Jaggan is an area, rather than a town so with that in mind...

Jaggan is an area, rather than a town so with that in mind you need to be prepared with food etc. A lovely peaceful setting with outdoor seating and ability to wander through the lovely tropical rainforest garden. I great 'jump off' area of seeing the Tablelands. Wish we had stayed at Jaggan and just travelled to the other sites around the Atherton Tablelands rather than moving around.
