Excellent place to explore Fraser Island. All hotel equipment was functional and in good condition. Check-in on the mainland is a differentiator so that arrival at the hotel is carefree. The rooms are good, although quite dated. It deserves an update so that the quality and experience remain unique. The food options are very good and the hotel staff were very helpful in helping us book our dinners. The overall summary is that our stay was very pleasant. A good memory that we will keep from our trip.

The place is very nice, it's a few minute walk from the beach and there are all the necessary services. The food is good and the staff is very kind and helpful, especially Jacob! (I hope the name is correct)

Property was fine. Rooms were large enough, kitchenette was suitable and bathroom was fine. Was here with one friend. Forgot my iPad but that was quickly arranged. Extra plus are the ducks and turtles in the river.

It’s a perfect location for the night before a K’Gari trip - only 5 mins walk directly to the ferry or to the Kingfisher Mainland Reception. Hosts Debi and Russ were brilliant - very welcoming and lovely to have a chat with. Clear that they care about their guests, very happy to share information about the area and their experiences. Most importantly, the apartment is spacious, well equipped, very clean and the bed is very comfy. Great choices for DIY breakfast.

    Loved our time on Fraser island ...took a beauty points all day tour which was informative and really enjoyable. ... also was able to take advantage of a flight from the beach over lake Mckenzie and the ocean edge.. saw many whales.. truly amazing! .Extended our stay to 6 nights.. great walks from the resort...our breakfast was included and was a very tasty hot buffet with many options... would definitely recommend Fraser island as a few days getaway.. only negative was the rooms weren't obviously soundproof and the people above us were a bit noisy at times

    K’gari is a very unique place- just getting there involves...

    K’gari is a very unique place- just getting there involves significant planning! ( 4WD, ferry across to hook point, timing the tides to enable driving on the beach to where you want to go….and get back….) things like wifi and mobile reception are non existent or very patchy. Most of the accomodation is reliant on solar power or has a generator for power. The unique vistas, beaches that go forever and inland tracks to get to the freshwater lakes are pretty special. There are very limited resources on the island ( I.e food!) so being self sufficient is ideal. The bakery at Eurong village was a bonus! Remember to organise your National Parks pass- the rangers frequently check these.

    Absolutely beautiful.

    Absolutely beautiful. Inland lakes for swimming and a visit to Eli creek and the Champagne pools a must. Drive to conditions and on correct tides. Suggest splitting time between stays in Eurong area and Orchid Beach area. Lake Wabby is a big walk in from lookout end over a large sand dune but water is cool and lake filled with cat fish. Floating down Eli creek is simply the best, not deep but naturally flowing.

    Beautiful beaches, lakes and creeks. We cooked our meals. The entire island is a 4x4 drive: off-roads and beach drive. Go prepared to get bogged down. Watch tide times. Research how to do a 4x4 drive on beach and dirt roads.

    Apart from the disgraceful accommodation, luckily Fraser Island is a dream island to visit. We are Queenslanders and have visited Fraser Is 8 times now and will return, but NEVER to the Fraser Island retreat, they should be taken off your books !!!!

    The house was perfect for our family stay in Fraser Island. We stayed in a 2-storey house very well equipped and very clean. The views from the balcony were stunning, and the kids really enjoyed the pool and spa in the complex. It is located next to the beach and a short walk from Eurong, where you can find a few shops. We definitely recommend it!!
