Really beautiful spot shame about the over development all...

Really beautiful spot shame about the over development all too many special seaside villages turned into resorts for the rich who only spend a short time there build huge homes that block out views and don't allow public access to the best viewing locations.

Metung is a beautiful, relatively unspoiled coastal village...

Metung is a beautiful, relatively unspoiled coastal village situated on the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria. With the Metung Hot Springs and Golf Course just a few minutes' drive away, relax in the stunning surroundings amid abundant wildlife. The local pub is packed with character, as are the cafes and quaint shops.

If you are staying mid-week, you are limited for places to...

If you are staying mid-week, you are limited for places to eat in the evening. The Metung Hotel is open and fortunately it serves a wide selection of great meals and is very popular. Make sure you book a table to avoid being disappointed. The walks along the boardwalks around Metung is worthwhile. Well located for a short trip to Lakes Entrance and Painesville.

The location is just wonderful for a pleasant relaxing...

The location is just wonderful for a pleasant relaxing civilized holiday especially if you love natural beauty, fishing boating, walking, sailing or just chilling out. If you want rock bands, rap music and noisy bars go elsewhere. Great for families and couples.

Maybe it is busier at other times, but we found the village to be very low-key and peaceful - just the type of stay we were after. an excellent coffee shop - eatery and great meals at the pub - especially the local fish. tried catching our own but no luck - maybe next time! We are not a young couple but we were able to easily walk down to the village from our motel - Metung Waters- and also did some walks along the boardwalk. Visited the Metung Hot Springs (unfortunately it rained that day).

Excellent little town, clean, great food and good fishing.

Excellent little town, clean, great food and good fishing. The restaurant at the pub served great seafood and a small but good selection of eateries. The lake bird life was prolific and plenty of walking opportunities worth taking a drive to the Tambo River reserve nice rive walk to the mouth.

The location was perfect for us. We walked one morning along the boardwalk into the village of Metung, which took us approx 20 minutes. Beautiful morning with the sun shimmering off the water. The villa itself was great. Plenty of room, nice and cosy with the fire roaring, electric blankets on the beds if needed, everything in the kitchen if you wanted to cook yourselves, parking a breeze.

The home was lovely, comfortable, everything that you need for a relaxing weekend with friends. The fire was amazing for the cooler evenings. Communicating with the owners was easy & they were very responsive. Great location. In Metung.
