Mudgee has everything you could want.
Mudgee has everything you could want. Boutique shopping, great accommodation and food options, three breweries (alongside the typical "pub on every corner" charm of a thriving country town), and the wineries are up there with some of the best I've visited. Went to the Three Tails Brewery, plenty of beers on tap, try the (alcoholic) ginger beer. The food here was amazing with huge portions. Also went to Lowe's vineyard, which was fabulous. I recommend the meal with pairing wines, its a bit expensive but the food and wines were fabulous as was the scenery. Mudgee is a very pleasant country town surrounded by excellent wineries. Visitors a spoilt for choice for lovely eateries. Our favourite winery is Mansfield Wines and the High Valley Cheese shop & the adjoining restaurant on Ulan Road are lovely. If it wasn't so cold in Mudgee at the time of year that we visited, we could've easily walked into town from the accommodation. The accommodation is also conveniently located right next to a winery and cheese store, which you can easily walk to and enjoy. Comfy beds, lovely rooms with extra things (like fan, air con, fridge, table) that I wouldn't necessarily expect from.a pub. Bathrooms are modern and lovely and clean. The staff were lovely and friendly, had a lovely meal there too, the garden yard is lovely.
