    A great little town. Friendly store keepers.

    A great little town. Friendly store keepers. Lots of goodies to be found. And (most important for me,) the terrain is perfect to leave the car at the hotel and go for a long long walk! We brought our own food - mainly to save the pennies and the facility worked for us.

    Great little town! Loved Bar Musque with tapas. The food was Devine with friendly service. A definite must do for everyone! A Wine Wagon wine tour was good value for money. Stopped at the Saturday markets before heading to four wineries for tastings and lunch was delicious! So much food- all included in the price. Thanks Timo! Had tea at The Clubhouse on Saturday night. Fantastic food. Warm fire and great atmosphere.

    Tanunda is the doorway to Barossa Valley.

    Tanunda is the doorway to Barossa Valley. Best area to stay to explore Barossa Valley. Town has enough facilities and eateries. Information Centre is great, staff there very knowledgeable to advise best way to make use of your time and where to visit etc

    Favourite places were Z Wines, Brothers at War,...

    Favourite places were Z Wines, Brothers at War, RieslingFreak, and Alkina (this last one is a bit out of Tanunda). Bar Musque is great for dinner. Very easy to get around Tanunda - a lot within walking distance. All wineries, restaurants were great as a solo traveller, and there are some cute townships to explore as well.

    The easy access to all the local cellar doors and attractions that the Barossa Valley is renowned for. Tanunda is in the middle of the area with some great winery's a simple walk or bike ride away.

    Tanunda is a nice town but found some of the restaurants charging exorbitant tarrifs. A Day On The Green concert was fantastic. Good position for visiting other Barossa towns. Local taxis were friendly and affordable. Well done the cabbies.

    I was able to get the key from the cleaner , there was fresh milk , Tim Tam biscuits , shampoo , conditioner , body wash and a box of tissues etc a great deal of thought has gone into peoples comfort , lights put on and music playing ,when you arrive . everything's clean and beds are comfortable . The location is ideal , close to Tanunda . I really like staying here , Louise is very nice and helpful. I always tell people that are looking for somewhere to stay in the Barossa , to stay at Basedow , for the above reasons.

    An excellent experience from beginning to end. Communication was brilliant, with Lindy going above and beyond to help us plan our couple of days around Tanunda, in the heart of the Barossa Valley. She recommended fabulous eating places and wineries. We had a family room which was perfect and the outdoor areas (pool and seating areas) looked lovely for sunnier days. A highly recommended hotel.

    Visited for the Barossa Vintage Festival and could not be happier with this place. Right on Goat Square, short walk to main shops in Tanunda. It has been newly renovated with a good little kitchen, KS bed, comfortable lounge area and a new coat of paint. There’s a washing machine and BBQ available too. We stayed in the 1 bedroom but there’s also a studio and 2 bedroom.

    The hotel was very clean; the staff were very friendly and helpful. The waitress at the restaurant was so thorough and, on the ball, we tipped her generously at the end of the night, she very much deserved it. the meals were perfect the staff were perfect, all and all made it a very good weekend, and we will be visiting again
