love Torquay. It's not only a surfer's paradise, it's also a fabulous getaway... Beach is peaceful and clean, plenty of cafes and restaurants - (especially loved Salty Dog Cafe, iL Matto Italian Restaurant and Squires Loft)... Torquay is a great beach for a holiday and I love driving here from Sydney. Great beaches and access to the Great Ocean Road which starts in Torquay. Torquay does not feel as busy as some other places along the Great Ocean Road, perhaps because the shops and beaches are a little more spread out. The walk along the front (part of the Surf Coast Walk) is beautiful for a stroll or a jog. The different beaches in the area offer something for everyone. The area seems to be super dog friendly- lots of doggos running around at the beach. There is a bunch of great cafes and it was a bit of fun rifling through the endless racks of discounted surf clothes at the outlet stores.Guest review byJacquelineAustralia - 10.0

The location is excellent with the beach and main shopping centre literally down the road. Next door is a service station that sells bits and pieces you may have forgotten to pack, which was handy! The Cafes & Beaches were lovely.
The Cafes & Beaches were lovely. Don't waste time going to Squires Loft - the waitresses and food were great, however nearly a 2 hour wait for our food to be served and the manager was rude on arrival and on departure, no apology.
