My wife and I recently stayed at the Kempinski Hotel in Bansko, and while most of the experience was exceptional, there were a couple of things worth noting. First, the breakfast was outstanding—easily a 10/10. The egg station was a standout, with fresh and perfectly prepared dishes each morning. The variety and quality were excellent. We were served by Darko during dinner, and he was truly exceptional. His wine recommendations were spot-on, and he made our dining experience special. Props to him for his impeccable service. The reception was welcoming and efficient, and the pool area was fantastic—well-maintained and the perfect spot to relax. However, one thing that bothered us was the lack of enforcement of the restaurant’s dress code. While there is a policy in place, we noticed people dining in shorts, and worse, some were even blowing their noses at the tables, but everything else was exceptional.

We liked everything! The villa was spacious and very cozy with all the wood. There are 3 bathrooms, 1 on the first floor and 2 on the second. It was very warm and the villa has a fridge, microwave and kettle. The host is very tentative and made us feel like home, even our dog was welcomed warmly. He has great taste for wine and everything in his restaurant is really delicious. The yard is very quiet and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The hotel is less than 10min from the town center.

    Bansko is great year around.

    Bansko is great year around. Even if one is not a skier it is properly better to visit during the rest of the year. Plenty to do during all of seasons. It is great for single travelers, couples, families and groups. There are a lot of good restaurants, bars, stores, galleries, museums. It is very safe any time of day. It is easy to get around by foot, and except for a few peak weeks during the ski season, it does not feel crowded.

    I love the Pirin Mountain / Bankso area - travel is a bit...

    I love the Pirin Mountain / Bankso area - travel is a bit hard to get there from where we came from, but once there we enjoyed the outdoors - I picked the wrong hotel this time, but last year we had a great stay and will return to the previous location to be sure.

    We traveled during the summer.

    We traveled during the summer. So, take this into consideration only for summer trips. The whole Bansko town looks focused on one thing: winter sports. During the summer, it's deserted. We only saw a few football teams for their summer camps and a few stragglers. In July, most of the restaurants are closed. Same with most shops. There was a bit of animation in the old city, with a few more shops and restaurants open. The gondola felt quite expensive: around 100 eur for a family of 2 adults and 3 children. The funny part: it was going empty all day, with no passengers.

    Bansko is always good for a ski trip if you skip the morning line. We went each day from 12 to the end of the day and it was perfect. Prices are much bigger than last year, in restaurants and pubs and bars.

    2nd year in a row in this value for money hotel. Extremely Friendly staff. Preslava and Rosa at reception helped and guided us for everything we needed. Excellent spa facilities. Milena and Gea provided super massages. The spa physiotherapist Pao was so helpful after a ski accident my wife had re what to do and hat to avoid and also provided amazing after ski massage. Variety and quality of breakfast and dinner buffet were top! Different theme every night with the highlight being the Bulgarian night with live music and dancers.

    We paid for the apartment on a half-board basis, the food was varied and delicious and the apartment in hotel was spacious and clean. The hotel has a spa center that is perfect after skiing. The gondola that transports to the ski center is located near the hotel, but the hotel also has a provided transportation to the gondola. We came to Bansko by car and in front of the hotel is big hotel parking. Higly recommend for families!

    Very nice staff, it really makes the difference when comparing with other hotels from Bulgaria. We had everything we needed, food was great(you have free a la carte menu for dinner), free parking, great spa, free shuttle, 7-8 min walk to gondola. Room is spacious, clean and comfortable.
