All of Bulgaria is beautiful. Sofia being the central is beautiful also but there is not much to do in the actual city. The rest of Bulgaria however you would need around 10 days to really enjoy it. We had 7 days and felt that a few more would have been better. Just some tips before going though, be sure of your addresses. Some locations have the wrong address on Google maps which made it difficult at times to arrive to the spot. A Vibrant city with great weather and great food. The prices are great for what you get when it comes to food, drinks and experiences. Sofia can't be beat for value. Make sure you visit this underrated place. Eating out there are many places to go with a mix of cuisine, the local Bulgarian cuisine should be tried. Getting around is easy and cheap on the metro and tram. There are many museums to visit and the city is full of amazing architecture. We were in Sofia for a total of 4. Weeks, although 3 was for study. There’s lots to do and see, quirky sights, great shopping and we feltve4y safe there. The parts of the city we saw around the hotel were beautiful and clean. The older buildings are well kept, the new ones very tastefully modern. Restaurants varied and the ones we ate in very good. The people were friendly. The taxis were less satisfactory. At the time of our visit in September 2025 they advertised that they accepted payment by card but all the ones (the licenced yellow cabs) we used were very unwilling to accept cards and wanted cash. It was very clean, the staff were friendly and professional and the room was very good for the price. The room had very good sound proofing, comfortable memory foam mattresses on the beds, the bathroom was clean and had a bath mat! (that's a first for me in Bulgaria) and there was a small balcony for the smokers. Compared to other hotels of a similar price, this was by far the best we have had in Sofia.
