Placentia is the 'island' you can drive to, which does give you option to visit inland sites like Cockscomb National Park or see the Red Bank scarlet macaws for the day, if you want a break from the beach, an option you won't have in Caye Caulker or San Pedro. Take the puddle jumper. It is very much worth it. The Naia resort is very laid back. Very serene and private. Very safe and very clean. Not a foodie resort. A very good place for romance and relaxation. Good places to buy groceries and to eat. Limited bus and boat service could leave you stranded. great ice cream shop. We stayed at Itz'Ana on Placencia about 15 minutes north of the village. Itz'Ana was a beautiful place, with gorgeous infinity pool overlooking very nice beach. Our room opened onto the pool deck with a good sized patio with a comfortable daybed outside. Plenty of shade, great breezes. The staff was great. Placencia Village itself has some good restaurants and good grocery stores for provisioning but not much else. Taxi service was good and prices good, but best to ask in advance, "How much will it be to take two people to Rick's restaurant". You'll get a straight answer. A lot of people rented golf carts to get around, and that might have been nice--but none available at our resort.Guest review byTerenceUnited States

This meant it was easy to find. The hotel is on the beach front but our rooms were not beach facing. The rooms had big bathrooms and aircon, as well as a safe for valuables. They also had a fridge for drinks. The location is good, about a 5 mins walk along the shorefront to the centre of Placencia. Use of the bikes and kyakes was a bonus.
