Assiniboia was a stopping place before continuing on my trip to more remote locations. I toured the museum (really cool place and the docent was entertaining and informative), got groceries and gas, had an excellent meal at Nash Restaurant, and had a great night sleep at Wheel Inn. It was cold and windy so not many people out but the people I interacted with were all pleasant and accommodating. I would like to return when I have more time to explore.

I have been there several times on business.
I have been there several times on business. Lovely mid sized town of population 2500. Pretty surrounding countryside if you like prairie, which I do. Very friendly people, have never met anyone who was not super friendly. Great hockey arena and events center. Lovely place to stay for a day or two. Greek, Chinese, Vietnamese Restaurants and several good steak houses ( this is cattle country after all). Tons of hotel choices for a place this size. NO TIM HORTONS but an A and W if you crave fast food.

Staff was inclusive and ethical.
Staff was inclusive and ethical. In these times of confusion it was comforting to be greeted with kindness. Thank you …
As far as rooms, they were as stated online and very nice and clean.
Breakfast has great selection.

Assiniboia has an amazing amount of services for the traveller - basically, everything one would need.
It also has the fabulous Shurniak Art Gallery, and is the gateway to St. Victor Petroglyphs Provincial Historic Park.

Wow. What a dump.
Wow. What a dump. My parents grew up in this part of Saskatchewan.... How about a little civic pride.... Clean and repair your streets. Maybe some colour like flowers... Somewhere... Anywhere.... If the first part of the towns is a pothole filled street with so much dirt and filth on the roads and some weed filled boulevards as the towns symbol...... Do yourself a favour. Keep going.
Now all that being said. Everyone I encountered was awesome.... But honestly the place is such a dump I didn't want to stay... My wife nearly divorced me on the spot when we stopped... She thought I was joking.

The staff is very friendly, They run the motel, the restaurant and the liquor shop.
The steakhouse is nice and the food is good
Breakfast it's included (one choice from the menu) and it's huge (2 eggs, bacon, potatoes and coffee). More than a usual same kind of hotel.
The room is basic but comfortable.
It's a good choice for the price.

This hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed. From the time we arrived until we left, it was great. This is a clean well maintained hotel. Staff are fantastic. The breakfast was exceptional. If all Canalta hotels are like this one, we will be staying at them when we travel.

Booked a stay for my technicians to do an out-of-town job. Everything at the hotel met our expectations. We would definitely recommend staying there. The staff was extra friendly, helpful, accommodating, and informative.
Great clean room.. Bed was fantastic. It comes with a Keurig, good wi-fi.. super comfortable and updated. For half the cost of a hotel room, it is great value!
