Nice Main Street with lots of touristy shops. Plenty of places to eat. Wouldn’t want to visit in the main season as it was busy when we were there in September. I loved the Banff, Lake Louise, and Waterton areas. The locals are very nice. The food was great with a lot of options. Our favorite spots were Banff—everywhere—and Waterton Park, especially Cameron Lake. We ate at a couple of bars along the route from The Dorothy Hotel to downtown Banff, where there are shops, bars, and restaurants. Nice easy walk, if you like walking; otherwise, the hotel gave us free bus passes. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife, esp. the bears, wolves, and deer.Guest review byLisaUnited States - 10.0

Banff is a great place with a super vibe based on the beauty of the forest and mountains. Kids working the restaurants and bars are really nice. Banff was a great a place to shop but parking was a problem though I had a handicapped sign. The 9 hour tour we took in a 14 passenger van was wonderful. It is a beautiful park. I would recommend the Viator tour. We did hike the Hoodoo Trail near our Banff rocky Mountain resort and enjoyed Canmore, too as we are skiers. The room was after remodelling, with remote access and large parking area. It is not cheap, but worth of this money. 10-15 minutes walk to the downtown.
