Although it is located in the center of the historical district, it was a hotel where you can enjoy a modern and very pleasant stay. Even though it faces a busy street, you can sleep quietly. It's a few minutes' walk to a wonderful historical heritage.

A taste of a Florida family resort right in Quebec! Our family of 2 adults and 3 children (ages 5, 7 and 9) were seeking a 1 night stay in the area during our roadtrip. This was so much more. We could have just stayed to play at the hotel the entire day. Not only a pool/hot tub but also an indoor water park splash area, plus a high story playground next to the pool, arcade, lots of gumball and novelty machines, popsicle freezer, Koi pond (you can pay to feed them), movie watching room with couches all within the hotel. We were all delighted and did everything possible. We were so lucky that we hit the last weekend they had all the bouncy castles going out toward the back of the building and outside. Absolutely depleted the kids from 8am onwards. Suppose the rate is also more affordable to stay during the end of September off peak season. We paid slightly more for the fun and very happy that we did. It was $10 CAD per child additional to enter all amusements. We booked through a 3rd party provider and given a couple choices as to room size, bed types and varying rates. We chose the 2 Queen beds instead of the 1 Queen bed and 1 Queen Murphy bed option as we thought that would have more floor space. We also paid more for this. Upon check in at the hotel we were told that all rooms were with 1 Queen bed and 1 Queen Murphy bed. Therefore we could have just chosen the bed arrangement at the lower price and still would have received the same room. I would have loved to have one of the balconies overlooking the pool! Even with my screaming kids there. Lifeguard present which was a nice addition and likely needed. The hotel team should be commended as they really know exactly what pleases each family member and what each needs to truly enjoy and be at ease when on vacation or on travels.

This is a city where you do not need a car.

This is a city where you do not need a car. Even with a small problem walking we were able to go most places. We used the funicular three times and a taxi once. It has lots of great restaurants, historical sites, great shopping and a lot of interesting culture. We thoroughly enjoyed two exhibits at the Musee des Beaux Arts. I would recommend taking the on off bus at the start to get your bearings! It is a city you really want to visit again! Our favorite place for dinner was Rioux and Pettigrew. The meal was delicious and the staff lots of fun and very helpful.

It’s my hometown…Tourists understandably will love the Old Town with its European character. There is an abundance of great malls for the shopping addicts on Laurier Blvd. Cartier street and Maguire street are full of great cafes and eateries. You can bicycle all the way from the harbour along the St-Lawrence river and under the two bridges to Cap-Rouge where there is the « tracel » train bridge worth seeing.

The off/on bus is a MUST. Try to do it your first day.

The off/on bus is a MUST. Try to do it your first day. Notre Dame Cathedral was beautiful. A walk through the Plains of Abraham and the Parliament Buildings are close together and well worth seeing. Many small areas just to walk around in and see the sights. Was disappointed in the museum of civilization. Too many lovely restaurants to chose from. Our favorites were the Cafe de Paris and Polina Pizzeria. In the old city everything you want to see you can walk to. Bring good walking shoes. Lots of hills.

One of the world's great cities!

One of the world's great cities! The walled Old City is a UNESCO site with good reason. It literally overlooks the St Lawrence River from a height dominated by the iconic Chateau Frontenac Hotel. Though bus tours are available, the best way to explore the Old City is on foot, though the narrow streets and steep slopes may be difficult for some. Restaurants for all tastes abound, including the native French Canadian cuisine offered by such standbys as "Aux Anciens Canadians". Opportunities for shopping, gallery hopping and museum visits are also abundant in both the Old and New Cities, but the Changing of the Guard at the Citadel should not be missed!

There is so much living history in and around QC and it is so easily accessible. No car necessary and if you do bring one it can be expensive to park. You can pay to go into museums but many of the best areas/buildings are free to explore. Forget your diet, there are just too many culinary delights. Because the City is old with narrow cobblestone streets, many on steep slopes, it might be difficult for people with walking disabilities to get around but there are lots of bus tours to take you anywhere. Make sure you spend several days here to see it all.

Very convenient location away from the hustle of the old town. Nice walks along the waterfront. Easy location from the railway station which was useful having seen the long line waiting for cabs. For stays of 3 days or more, the hotel is able to provide a free bus pass valid for the duration of stay. Very useful indeed. Great staff who went the extra mile when we made various requests such as finding alternative for items left at home,
