FAQs about hotels in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

Vancouver is a beautiful, vibrant city.

Vancouver is a beautiful, vibrant city. We felt safe at all times. The waterfront & Stanley Park were great for walking. We rented a car and drove up to Squamish & Whistler for a day. The mountains are spectacular. The subway is clean and accessible and it is worth taking the ferry over to North Vancouver. The Hop on-hop off bus is another great way to see the city and visit the sites.

Loved the great many shops and sights.

Loved the great many shops and sights. Huge drug problem, many looked like dead bodies and could have been, sick people on busses and the floor of busses. The constant smell of drugs and smoking it.

The city is huge so the hop-on hop-off bus proved to be invaluable. We saw a lot more than we could have on foot or trying to drive around in such a busy city. The main tourist sights such as the harbourfront and Stanley Park are magnificent. Gastown was beautiful and charming. There’s a free shuttle to Capilano Suspension Bridge park which we took to visit there and absolutely loved it!

Vancouver was great, crossing the border back to the US...

Vancouver was great, crossing the border back to the US sucks and will keep me from returning. We visited Vancouver a couple of years ago and crossing back into the United States took over 2 hours and the border guard was rude and had an ego. The time it was over an hour.

Vancouver is a beautiful city with gorgeous architecture.

Vancouver is a beautiful city with gorgeous architecture. It is a seaport city that is surrounded by mountains, lending to a mild climate. The city's beauty make it a popular location choice for movies and tv shows. Vancouver is also one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada. There is so much to see and do in Vancouver that you will find yourself planning your next trip before you leave for home from your first trip. Popular attractions include Stanley Park (ride the scenic train), The Seawall, Queen Elizabeth Park, botanical gardens, Granville Island, Capiliano Suspension Bridge, whale watching, Butchard Gardens and Victoria.

I wanted to like this city, but couldn't

I wanted to like this city, but couldn't Some areas are nicer than others, like in every city, but downtown was dirty, with garbage and homeless people lying along the roads, marihuana smell everywhere The Gastown area was interesting and nice The Waterfront was full of tourists, of course Stanley Park is great, the Totem poles are fantastic, lots of walking, Beavers Lake is a nice area too. I went to Capilano Bridge with a free shuttle bus from the Waterfront, now that was breathtaking...in many ways. From the entrance to the bridge already a lot to see, to learn. The bridge itself is fantastic, moves under your feet in every way, and the view from it is great, 70m above the river. On the other side canopy walks and lots of stops to learn about this area. The trees are not as huge as in the mountains, obviously, but still big enough, and they smell amazing. If you get thirsty or hungry, there is a grill with a few choices. All in all, I spent almost a whole day there with such admiration.

We had a very nice stay at the Windsor Guest House in Vancouver. The location is perfect, just near Broadway City Hall Metro Station, very easy to reach from Vancouver International Airport and 3-4 stops from Vancouver Downtown. More than that, the staff was superfriendly, both the one that has welcomed us in as well as the breakfast staff. The breakfast is a nice moment also to exchange ideas and experiences with the other guests. It's definitely the best choice for us in Vancouver, and we recommend it.

This is the best value in Vancouver. I've stayed at every high end hotel and while the Parker isn't five stars, the price is for what you get. Clean, comfortable, an INCREDIBLE rooftop bar and restaurant where I enjoyed half price caviar and bubbles on Sunday, and a short walk to shopping. There are great little touches like kick lighting under the bed and L'occitane amenities. Love the Parker.

Very well located in the heart of Vancouver. Lots of restaurants nearby. Room was a 2 bedroom suite. Very comfortable and roomy. Able to leave our bags at checkin. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to Yaletown and Granville Island as well as Gastown. I would highly recommend this hotel.
