The property was beautiful, the rooms were clean, with good space and modern. The staff were amazing, everyone especially Dani was incredibly kind and helpful. Also, the Umami restaurant had amazing food and the buffet breakfast was great.

The owners were super helpfull and friendly, food was great location perfect. From the moment we walked in we were greeted very nicely and throughout the entire stay the owners entire family were super great. Our room was great. Very clean and mountain view from the belcony. Only 10 min walk to the lifts up the mountain. The 4 course meal we had for diner was amazing. The breakfast was super good. Would definitly recommend to anyone going there.

Everething was great, the room was super modern, a wonderful Mountain View. Very comfortable bed and pillows, good shower. The staff were really kind with us, we were on honeymoon, the room got all decorated by the staff. Good breakfast, can’t find negative point.

Alpine Resort and Large Glaciers

Grindelwald lies at more than 1000 metres above sea level, offering top-class ski slopes and an imposing Alpine landscape. It is located in the canton of Bern, in the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aletsch is the largest glacier to be found in the Alps.

Although evidence shows humans have been present in the region for thousands of years, the first long-lasting settlements date back to the Middle Age. For a long period, the destiny of the village was attached to the influence of the Interlaken Abbey, until the times of the Protestant Reformation.

Tourist activity begun in the 18th century, bringing new life and wealth to the village. During the second half of the 19th century, roads and railway lines were developed, allowing a constant influx of visitors.     Grindelwald is like a Swiss Fairytale. All the wonderful Swiss Chalets, the incomparable alps, the charming Swiss people. Grindelwald is definitely a tourist town with shops selling all the Swiss trinkets, but that's part of the charm. No other place can you travel up to the famous Jungfrau and take in all that mountain offers. It's truly an adventure.

    An authentic, discrete luxurious mountain village which beats many others we have visited, skied and hiked over the years. Unique in its´location, dramatic mountain views everywhere, variety of walks and activities including summer glacier hikes, caves and sport/spa facilities with excellent dining after activities. A well-organised bus route brings you to every corner and the closest town of Interlaken is just half ´n hour drive or a train journey away.

    It looks like heaven...so beautiful, but stay out of the main village for accommodations. Shop at the small local shops on the fringe. Do grocery shop to save on meals, Coop and Aldi are cheap and they the have better priced souvenirs! Be respectful of the local culture and embrace it all!

    Grindelwald is a beautiful town, we found people at restaurants and other site seeing places very helpful & soft spoken. we had visited Grindelwald from 7th - 11th August 2025, morning & evening were pleasant & day time it was sunny. We had hired a car so we drove around near by areas of Grindelwald.

    Great hiking. Not enough quality eating establishments. Would have loved information about the valley’s history that didn’t cost so much. Paying for tap water with a meal was not acceptable. People wew lovely.

    Lovely town with a lot of activities.

    Lovely town with a lot of activities. It can be a bit pricey but you can hike for free to your heart's content. A lot of people are paragliding, it was nice to see and it actually makes you want to try it too. Maybe next time!

    The hotel is located in Grindelwald's main road, 7min from the main station and around 10-15min from restaurants and a market. It is also located 20min by foot from Grindelwald Terminal where we could take the cable car to Jungfrau. The staff was super kind and helpful and the breakfast buffet was delicious. They also have a transportation option to the train station for when you have lugagge and don't want to go up the hill with it. Also, the room had a spectacular view of the Eiger!

    Close to the bahnhof (5-6min walk), reasonable sized rooms, good sound insulation in the windows. We had two interconnected rooms as a family, and these face the street rather than the Eiger (I knew this when booking). It can get a bit noisy in the evening on the street, but the windows were well insulated. The hotel provides a simple decent breakfast with the room (not many in Switzerland do) and the staff are lovely. Good value for Grindelwald.

    Comfortable room and bed. Of four hotels I stayed in and notified I was vegan, this was the only one to reply and they brought in soya yoghurt and milk especially and there was dairy free spread anyway. This made breakfast more balanced for me. The views from our room and the breakfast bar are stunning. There is traffic noise, but you would get that in most places in Grindelwald and it was quiet by later evening anyway so it isn't a problem

    Location was fantastic. Bus stop was just ouside our apartment and it was free bus rides around Grindelwald. Collection of keys from the hotel was easy as free shuttle service from the train station was provided for. That really solved a headache for us both ways. Apartment was very well equipped and loved the views!! Very clean and comfortable too.

    Excellent location. A quiet modest hotel, spotless rooms. Food was traditional Swiss and very good. Breakfast was a bit sparse but adequate. The location is further from Grindelwald but a free bus stops right outside. Staff were friendly and helpful but were not in your face all the time. The view from the restaurant terrace was spectacular.
