I go there to do dental work at Crystal Dental, as their prices are 2-3 times cheaper than in the USA and the quality is better, they speak English and have German equipment. I do not care about touristy stuff, I did it on my first visit many years ago. You can take buses for daytrips. Tours with agencies are very expensive and geared for young athletic people. During the last Costa Rican rainy season, the beach was ravaged by strong storms. a large portion of sand was washed away leaving exposed rock over much of the beach. My photos reveal that about four feet of sand was washed away. Good value at Beach Break Resort Oceanfront room. Good lunch special at the Japanese Restaraunt next to the bus station. Jaco by itself is a nice place for vacationing.
Jaco by itself is a nice place for vacationing. The beach is good and a lot of beaches nearby. Its proximity to Manuel Antonio and other places in the north are a big plus. The downtown is buzzing with lot of restaurants and ice cream shops. We walked along the downtown in the evening.Guest review byAnandUnited States

The rooms are small but efficient, the pool is right on the beach, there's a bar for beverages and a menu for meals/snacks. You literally step off the hotel property right onto the beach! The hotel has a light and funky hostel/hotel feel with couples, families and solo travelers all staying there. We took free salsa classes and rented beach bikes for just $10 a day.
