Absolutely amazing! It’s clean, calm, well organised and the staff is great. Everything is taken care of! The beds are amazing!! The best beds we had in whole Costa Rica. The location is a 10 minute (bumpy) ride from the city, but nothing more difficult than other roads in Costa Rica. It’s part of the deal. Make sure you have a car if you stay here. If not, the hotel can arrange transfers and tours where they pick you up.

The view from the garden is just magnificent. The hotel is so cute and all rooms are so nicely done with smalle terrace and lots of wood. To have breakfast near the garden and hear the sea even when it rains is just perfect. The ladies were ever so friendly and allow you to use kitchen tools when you want to have your own breakfast or lunch like when you've been out already 5 times in a row. Montezuma is a great place to be for a couple of days, enough lunch and diner places. We also loved a daytrip to Santa Teresa and a half a dagtrip on a boat snorkling and whalewatching (we saw 5!). The hotel can arrange this tour in a much smaller group and at a better price than at one of commercial offices. We had lots of Rain so the waterfall was off for us but we did otter great stuff and would definately visite again.

The hotel has a wonderful location close to the beach and town. The property has a nice pool and is set in a beautiful jungle area, with wildlife at your doorstep such as monkeys, squirrels and agoutis. The room is nicely decorated and comes with a spacious private garden. The restaurant offers excellent breakfast, cocktails you can enjoy by the pool and dinner.

Paradise on earth! Irene, the manager was extremly helpful and did not hasitate to help us with bus tickets and offered free laundry as well! The Los Caballos is located a bit outside of the busy Montezuma. There is no traffic noise audible, and believe it or not, they have perfect road signs leading you to the place which is quite unusual in Costa Rica. After staying in Montezuma several times I would highly recommend this lovely place!

    There were people from all parts of the world in one little town. It is worth exploring the surrounding areas, because the actual town of Montezuma is rather small. There are different dining and lodging options for all tastes and budgets. The town/beach is at the bottom of a very steep hill, and getting up and down could be a challenge for walkers.

    Some great restaurants!

    Some great restaurants! We especially enjoyed Playa de Los Artistas, Soda La Naranja, and Cocolores. We also enjoyed morning yoga at Ylang Ylang, the accessibility of the beach, and the walkability of the town and local waterfalls. Fun music scene at night if that’s your thing.

    Montezuma is a quiet beach town, has enough places to eat, a grocery store, but is not a party place. Our house was up the heal, between the trees with lots of birds and animals around. In the evenings we would sit outside, but keep the windows and doors closed, that nothing could go in. We had airconditioning, but we just used it to cool off the place, then it stayed cool for the night. Lots of beaches to choose from and lots of waterfalls to visit.

    montezuma and its beach are overestimated: generally dirty whereas Costa Rica constantly shows great respect for its natural surroundings. Not worth the diversions at all! Except for the road and the scenery to get there

    You must have a car to get around to the beaches of...

    You must have a car to get around to the beaches of Montezuma and the roads are rough. Grocery stores are hard to find if you want to cook at all in your rented villa. Ocean super warm and wonderful--loved Tambor beach. Wonderful fresh fish market there.

    Very small town with little to do. 3-5 nights is more than...

    Very small town with little to do. 3-5 nights is more than enough time to see the area. Tourists (and locals) on loud motorbikes and ATVs are everywhere day and night. Not the quiet jungle getaway we imagined.

    Nice vibe overall and incredible sunrise on the ocean. The common area with hammocks is relaxing and inviting. The room and kitchen areas were clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions and doubts, Luís helped us organise our activities. The Montezuma waterfall is at walking distance, a few minutes away from the hostel and it’s breathtaking! We had a great time in Montezuma and the area around it!

    We really enjoyed the hotel! The room with a small terrace with hammocks was really comfortable. The pool was great to cool down. The staff was super friendly and had some useful tips for tours and restaurants. The hotel is right at the center of Montezuma, so you occasionally hear some noises (music, cars etc) but it didn't bother us at all :)

    Everything was great, nice clean rooms, beautiful hotel in and outside. The staff was very friendly. When I injured myself and took a long time to walk back from the beach they let us check out a little later. We didn't get to try the restaurant but the food looked great. Wished we could have stayed longer.

    Nice hotel about 2km far from Montezuma village and Montezuma beach. We had a perfect breakfast there. Everything as presented. Communication with the hotel staff was perfect (dinning & trips tips, advices, ...).
