We loved our beach cabin stay in Manzanillo! We ate meals on the front porch surrounded by the beautiful garden, listening to the rolling waves of the ocean. The beach is just across the street, and the nature reserve is a five minute walk away at the end of the street. There is also a good Caribbean restaurant at the other end of the street, also just a five minute walk from the cabin. Our host was very friendly and attentive. It’s a quiet, authentic beach town, and much less touristy than Puerto Viejo. We plan to stay there again.Guest review byLauraUnited States - 10.0
Manzanillo is lovely.
Manzanillo is lovely. The reef is regenerating so snorkelling good we did a boat trip to go snorkelling more and I saw a blue spotted eagle ray! Absolutely the best snorkelling in the area particularly near the entrance of the National Park. We had a kayak into the jungle which was lovely. We did a night hike which was quite an experience!. Manzanillo is quiet at night. The people are great! We rented bikes from Chile Verde where we stayed and cycled to the Ava project preserving Great Green Macaws. We also culex to Punt Uva. We also walked there on the beach. Manzanillo is great! We are at maxis and another cafe at the end of the road. We also had dinner at Colores with live music. So friendly people, such a stunning place to walk around, explore and maybe plan to visit again for prolonged periods or even to retire at? Manzanillo is a great place to stay, I think many people end their vacations in Limon here, and for good reason. It's a very small town and a very relaxing place, especially on weekdays. There are downsides though to being in such a remote town, namely that wifi wont be great and there are only about 2 small grocery stores, one that only takes cash. But the restaurants in the area are great, the beaches as well. I think the highlight is the refuge which is further south which offers a ton of nature, hiking and some nice beaches.
