Amazing property with a wonderful view of the sunset. We had a large room, everything was very clean, staff very friendly. The food in the restaurant a few steps away was great. Breakfast at the pool was good, too. The lodge is actually even nicer in reality than shown in the photos. We needed about 35min. by car to get to the airport. We would return any time.

Beautiful room right next to the pool. We slept very well. The pool was very refreshing and our children enjoyed playing in the lush garden. We were pleasantly surprised about the quality of the breakfast, it was delicious! Very friendly staff. Super cute and well-behaved dog. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean, spacious rooms with lovely balcony and views. A great start to a Costa Rica trip or the end of it. Hospitable households. Picked us up from the airport and arranged a transfer the next morning to Poas volcano with a final stop at La Fortuna. We booked one more night at this hotel before flying home. The location is great, there's a small shopping center down the street. The room was very spacious with a desk for working, an eating area, and an area to watch TV. The beds were comfortable and towels were soft. The showers have hot water, which i love! The bathroom had a blow dryer which was great because I forgot mine. The kitchen was well stocked with basic items. The back parking area felt secure with the gate that the staff control from inside.

Cute little town near the airport.

Cute little town near the airport. Probably not a destination, but, if you have a night to kill before flying out, it's fine. Otherwise, there isn't anything I know of to draw visitors. Couple cute restaurants on the main street. Felt safe walking around after dark.

We did more in San Antonio than we expected to do.

We did more in San Antonio than we expected to do. The church in the center of town was welcoming, and there are a lot of restaurants with good food and service. The bussing to other areas (San Jose and Heredia) is well marked and has an appropriate schedule. Plus, the area felt safe to walk after sunset. Because of its convivence, we extended our hotel stay to stay in the area, and only bussed to San Jose for the day.

For us La Rivera is a take off and arrival point, so the easy airport access is important. It is an easy walk to a phone store or Pali supermarket for some basics, and the local pista, church and park give you a safe introduction to Costa Rica. There is not much else to do in the immediate area.

This little hotel is a complete gem. It is exactly as in the pictures .Wonderful first night in CR. A traditional building with lovely veranda under the trees. It is 600m (yes 600m) from the AVIS car rental office at airport but not under flight path so minimal noise. The garden is so beautiful, the rooms, restaurant and pool are simple but ample and clean. Staff helpful. Good directions for getting west/north . Already booked to return.

We needed an airport hotel for the night, it’s close by for convenience and set in a relaxing large garden that is well maintained with a pool. You can hear the big jets taking off but that didn’t disturb our nights sleep, we slept well in a large room with comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Airport taxi arranged by hotel cost $10 and arrived early for our 04.00 transport.

The hotel was recommended to me by a friend for an early flight as it is close to the airport They include, a free breakfast and hotel shuttle and were really friendly and responsive, check in was so easy The evening meal in the restaurant was really nice and felt relaxing and adapted to a food allergy

The gardens at the hotel are beautiful and very peaceful. The hotel staff are very friendly. You can tell the hotel is well cared for. The only disappointment was the noise of the planes taking off so close to the hotel. We did not know this when we booked.
