Cesky Krumlov is a different place than the one I visited...
Cesky Krumlov is a different place than the one I visited many years ago. It has gone through quite a change for the better. The buildings have been renovated, shops and homes attract the tourists to stay and enjoy the place. We went around on foot, went up to the castle from where we had a good view of the surrounding area, ate at a restaurant by the river and simply enjoyed the scenery, although the weather did not cooperate - it was always cloudy and sometimes it rained. A really lovely place to visit which we'd not heard of in the uk. Very interesting. Lots to see. Maybe a few too many tourists. Beware pickpockets... We were very nearly robbed in the main square. Lovely. You can walk to every scenic spot, and the shops themselves are attractions. Take a guided boat trip or simply yacht. Climb to the top of the castle and enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire town. Really relaxing!Guest review byLChina - 10.0

There's enough to see in the city for one day, but for additional days best to find some activities. We did some rafting on the Vltava river and that was very pleasant and calm day. The whole township has the history, charm and architecture that certainly has well deserved its World Heritage listing. In addition the river is wonderful, the range of restaurants excellent and the people are very tourist friendly. I highly recommend the free walking tours. I would also prefer to stay outside the old town where it is a bit more quiet. If you are coming by train from Cesky Budejovice just take a cab directly $40 instead because dragging your roller bags is not fun on cobblestones.Guest review byBettina
