Dinner and lunch can be obtained in Zruč nad Sázavou (10 min drive), in restaurant U Kuklu, breakfast in cafeteria Kavarna Hellas (both speak English). Zruč has a well-maintained and interesting castle-manor that is worth visiting (English-language tour available) and a nice garden grounds. For the rest of it, the Ostrov area is devoid of restaurants. This area is best for self-catering travellers or (motor) cycle travellers.
