    A number of local restaurants provide lunch and dinner ,one only 100 yards away . Supermarkets nearby . I was very happy with this quiet village/town and felt very safe when walking about. Within half an hour drive of beaches.

    Detern is a small, typical village for the Ammerland region.

    Detern is a small, typical village for the Ammerland region. Brick buildings, tall trees surrounded by fields and shallow lakes. It´s westernmost part is a sleepy hamlet with a nice assembly of historical buildings. The center is more buzzing but still very quaint.
