This was our 5th time staying here and as always such a pleasant stay! Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is always great, parking is convenient and the staff are so friendly! We come every year to visit the Medieval Christmas market. It is a short walk away and so much fun!

I loved my stay at Kelter. The parking was easy. The check in was easy and friendly. The room was just perfect for me in size and temperature. The price was just great for me. I really loved the area around Esslingen. I was in town for the Christmas Market and the Chocolate Market in Tubingen which is 45 minutes away. What a perfect day I had. Esslingen Christmas Market is one of the best in Germany. The old town center is a perfect backdrop for the CM and there were so many food and eating options there. The theming and decorating of the CM were one of the best also. The restaurant is also very good at the Kelter. I had a nice relaxing drink after a perfect day at a Chocolate festival and CM. I will for sure stay here again in the future if I come back to this area in the summer or back for the CM season. I also really enjoy supporting small family-owned hotels and restaurants rather than the big chains.

Amazing place! We booked last minute as a stop during a long road trip and I am so glad we found this gem. The apartments are comfortable and mer all of our needs. The staff is what really set this place apart. They were so welcoming when we arrived and helped us get dinner at the restaurant, which was delicious. What I truly appreciate is the staff went out of their way to accommodate our gluten free dietary requirements. She made sure we knew what was gluten free on the menu and then asked the kitchen to make us gluten free bread for breakfast the next morning without us asking. When we went to breakfast the next morning, they had the plate of gluten free buns ready to go, again without us asking. We loved our stay so much, I have booked again for our return trip! Highly recommend, the customer service is wonderful.

    We went for Christmas mediaeval market which is marvellous. We've also been to Esslingen in the spring too, it's a lovely town with a river and very good places to eat. We can highly recommend Armonia Gastatte, which is very German but does terrific Greek dishes too. We used th bus (122) from Stuttgart airport, it takes about 35 mins, very cheap about 3euros. Train is also good, I think 9euros. Town is very clean and typically German. Houses are beautiful with many having the original oak beams which quite often overhang the street. Much of it dates a long way back with one or two 13th century. Don't forget to look up too, lot of lovely features and one or two suprises.

    It is a very beautiful town with a lot of historical buildings, a beautiful small castle and in the middle of a wine region. The white wine there was amazing, and the restaurants make great local food.

    Esslingen is a small, medieval town just two S-Bahn or regional train stops from Stuttgart (less than 10 minutes). It's very central to many places you may want to visit in the state of Baden-Wuerttemburg. For me, it made the perfect "home base." The town is small, so quiet and not overly touristy, but big enough to keep you busy wandering the streets of the old town, shopping, eating, and hiking up into the vineyards for a couple of days. Very historic feel with lots of photogenic old buildings and cobblestone streets. Excellent Swabian restaurants as well as a good mix of international cuisines. The opportunities to taste wine and walk in the vineyards and up to the Burg (fort) were an added bonus.

    Esslingen is a historic town southeast of Stuttgart.

    Esslingen is a historic town southeast of Stuttgart. It has a very lovely downtown area, and reasonable shopping. It is served by the S banh surface train that goes to Stuttgart in 20 minutes or so. It is next to where the Mercedes-Benz factory is located. From Esslingen you can take short trips to many other nice historical locations. Driving a car is a must but Germany is one of the best countries to drive I know.

    Fantastic customer service. We were running late for the 19:00 check in, emailed them asking if we could be 20 min late and when we arrived they were ready for us and we could go straight to our room. Great value for money. The hotel is a bit dated BUT they definitely look after it as it was all in pristine condition. Felt very comfortable and welcome there.

    Extremely good position for my business needs. Room not big but very comfortable, neat and tidy. Useful parking lot under the hotel. Staff was kind and helpful when I arrived earlier than expected. Breakfast very rich. Next time I will try also the restaurant, it looked really nice.

    Location is top - next to the city center, so you can just reach it by foot; Disadvantage is an absence of the parking place so we had to leave the car at paid parking which is also at some distance from the hotel (but manageable)
