You will need a car to get there but you can walk down into Lohberghütte in 15-20 minutes and there is a restaurant there, if needs be. The hotel nearby was closed over Christmas so it was very quiet and we had the wonderful views out the window all to ourselves. There is good walking in the area, so ... all was good.
