Luneburg is a beautiful city, full of history and fascinating architecture. Very relaxed place and easy to walk around. Train station is just a 10 minute walk from the centre of the town. I had nowhere near enough time to explore all the features, medieval architecture and history of Luneburg so I can't really give it a proper review. The city is over 1000 years old.
The city is over 1000 years old. It wasn't much destroyed during WWII so it's one of the most amazing examples of architecture from the Middle Ages to the 1900s. But it's also very alive. The mix of people is Lueneburgers, students from all over the world and tourists. The vibe is historic chill - because all the old buildings are being used today. History comes to life in this town. The breakfast was great. Fresh and full of variety. I liked the incentive that they give you for not asking for a clean-up. You hang a small bag on the door before midnight. This indicates no cleaning is necessary and you get a piece of fruit in the morning. There is also a wellness center next door.
