I’ve been coming to Benidorm since 1969 and every time I come here I love it just as much as my first time. It’s the sort of place you can find things to do to suit all age groups as I’ve discovered over those years of coming here. Benidorm is the destination of choice for the loud and gregarious but it is often turned up to 11. There is a different side to Benidorm. Old Town is bustling but nothing like as noisy as the "Strip" end. Avoid apartments that are too near the Strip. The old town is very charming and the sea views are great...and the sea has crystal clear water. Restaurants are great; many serving authentic Spanish cuisine. Prices are very reasonable. The town is a bit over-run by tourists, however, many of whom do not seem too appreciative of the fact that they are in Spain. Benidorm has something for everyone.
Benidorm has something for everyone. Don’t get hung up on it’s mixed reputation. Some areas may not be for you, but there is so much more. The beaches are some of the best on the Costa Blanca. Old town and Levante are always buzzing with activity all year round, even during weekdays, no other place has this. There’s excellent restaurants if you know where to look, beautiful scenic lookout points, theme parks, waterparks, a zoo, nightlife, etc etc. If you enjoy a more quiet place to stay go for Poniente. It’s also a great base of operations to go out adventuring the area, visit Tabarca island, climb mount Campana, go for a round of golf, visit Alicante.
