We have been to El Campello before but further along. We were on edge of El Campello and Playa San Juan. The promenade is fabulous and it leads on to glorious beach with so many facilities. Tram runs from Alicante straight to El Campello or there is a bus 21, which runs along coast to EC. Lots of shops, restaurants. el campello has a nice beach and some very good bars and restaurants . Has a nice Spanish vibe to the place with the majority of people being local or Spanish tourists. The main part of the resort is of course the sea front where most of the bars and cafes are. An authentic Spanish town located north of the city if you follow the tram line with lots of spanish cafes/bars; markets on Sundays and Wednesdays, lots of municipl park playgrounds for children and a wonderful beachfront with a huge selection of restaurants to choose from. The beach has strong waves which are fun for all, but make sure children are supervised -it is important to watch for lifeguard flags as they change the flags depending on currents and tides. The tram station is key for El campello as it links up to alicante and Benidorm also- it is good to get a blue top up travel card in Luceros station in alicante for the tram and you can buy 10 trips at a time or more.Guest review byStephanie - 10.0

I think you need to find out from others who live there or have stayed, which are the best restaurants and cafes. There are loads to choose from but many of them fall short. I'm quite fussy and not a great fan of pizza or tapas. Arroz (similar to paella) is nice. I liked the room price and beach. I did not like:
I liked the room price and beach. I did not like: - the owner forbids entering the house wet so that drops do not fall on the floor, - the toilet valve was constantly leaking, - the tap in the kitchen was broken, - the owner's huge dog without a muzzle runs around the house and looks into all the rooms and barks at night under the window, preventing sleep (In Spain, dogs classified as "potentially dangerous" (PPP) must be muzzled and leashed at all times in public areas), - the bedding and towels were not changed - no a rubbish basket was installed in the room despite of I asked to do that, no received the replay for my request. The beach is on front of the apartment. There are bars and little restaurants around. Also nearly there are two supermarkets. There is a parking place if you vistit Alicante by rental car. About 200mtr there is a tram stop for the city .. Everything was fine, well equipped kitchen and bathroom.There are two balconies where you can sit to have breakfast ir a dinner . The staff were so attentive and made our stay so enjoyable and even gave me a parking space outside the hotel as the car park was full. So do not hesitate to book this hotel as you can’t get better staff and location as the beach is a 30 second walk outside. The area was perfect as we had 4 apartments side by side and another right across from us which were all next to the pool with less than a 2 minute walk to the beach and also on the beach was the tram which was a 25min ride into Alicante and 5 mins away from El Campello (Brel is a restaurant we would really recommend). While the area is very quite and there isn’t much nightlife it’s a short ride tram ride pretty much outside your door for €1.45.Guest review byJackIreland
