The whole building is amazing. It looks surprising from any angle and at all moments of the day. I loved the sunset from the library terrace. The Tradition restaurant is fantastic. Breakfast is varied and they made us takeaway brakfast on the last day, which included champagne as well.

It was a beautiful place in very nice surroundings. The place was big, clean and had all the needed stuff for the stay. The host was helpful at all times and always available if needed. There is a cosy garden with a barbecue where we could spend all night in peace and quiet. I definitely recommend this place if you visit the area.

Amazing location in the middle of Rioja region. Beautiful hotel with vineyard and excellent views.Perfect place to wake up when you want to visit all the bodegas. Close to the town of Laguardia (5min) and 25 min from Logrono.Excellent breakfast with excellent view. Free parking and this is a bodega too, so there is a shop where you can buy wine for the day and drink there.

Great location , 1 minutes walk from enclosed city and the underground parking was a real bonus . The lady of the house was very welcoming and friendly. Her English wasn’t perfect and my Spanish is rubbish but we managed to communicate through smiles & gestures . She washed a big load of clothes for me and dried them as well , all for €8 !!! The room was great & spacious and we had a jacuzzi bath in our room which was lovely .

    Elciego is a small pueblo on the border of Rioja and Basque...

    Elciego is a small pueblo on the border of Rioja and Basque region. Everyone speaks Spanish and some English. The pueblo is beautiful, quiet and has plenty of wineries on its surroundings. Worth staying at least 2 nights and enjoying field trips and wine tasting.

    We walked into Elciego looking to find some local shops and...

    We walked into Elciego looking to find some local shops and a few bars/ restaurants, but like many other similar villages there weren't many of either! Nice to walk around but very sleepy. The village really seems to exist for the Marques de Riscal building/hotel/winery and other similar bodegas in the local surroundings.

    For me it was a bad choice. We arrived and received a poor welcome. Come back a 2.30 pm your room is not ready. OK we do that. The entrance to the hotel was through a packed restaurant and we arrived back at 3.45pm. Nobody was around to give us keys. Eventually the manager appeared and show us to our room. The room was so noisy and all through the night it was a job to sleep with people passing our room.

    Location for the Rioja region, friendliness of staff and the accommodation was clean and comfortable . It also had a lounge/kitchen that residents could use, it was also good value for money. With the booking we were given a free tour of the winery below the hotel and sampled several wines. Highly recommended it.
