Parts of the town are rundown and a bit untidy - the western end, around the old town and the Plaza Pedro I, is attractive and full of bars and restaurants - the plaza itself is delightful (see photos). The main shopping streets are fairly typical of a smaller Spanish city. Curiously, there is no town bus service and only three taxis (the taxi stand is at the north side of the Glorieta). No trains, but the bus station is at the sound end of town - there is a regular service to Yecla (about 20 minutes distant) and Murcia (about an hour). There is also a service via Caravaca to Valencia.

Centrally placed in Jumilla. Clean and tidy. Spacious. Friendly positive people! Nice wine-tasting in the evening. Restaurant at ground level very good!
