On previous visits to Lerma the town has been buzzing in the evenings, on this occasion, a Tuesday night in mid-June the entire place was shut making it very difficult to find somewhere for dinner. Great if you’re travelling with dogs, nice riverside walk. Easy to find just off motorway. Big rooms which are very clean. Big bar with plenty of light meals. It was a handy overnight stop en route to Bilbao. Very attractive small town , stunning parador/palace, could easily have spent longer there but on this occasion a day was sufficient. There are several pleasant little squares, galleried streets and attractive looking eateries, though the town is dominated by the palace in the Plaza Major. Ate in the parador, very good quality , around 50e per head. Not particularly much for families with young children in Lerma, but for a treat as an overnight stay in a palace , this is a must !Guest review bymartynUnited Kingdom

The room was spotless and warm with very good WiFi. One of the best breakfasts of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Wide range of things to tempt you and, again, spotlessly clean and in an attractive bright room. The hotel’s location is just round the corner from the five minute climb up to the main square and the Parador. The staff are very helpful and the receptionist mostly speaks English. The restaurant is small but very welcoming and the food is of fantastic quality.
