This is a very special place. Don’t go there expecting a boutique hotel with all the fancy trimmings - Las Chimeneas isn’t like that. Go there for peace, wonderful fresh, local food, and owners who know and love the area. If you enjoy walking, Emma and David will give you directions to explore the paths of the Alpujarras, or even go along and show you the way, with tons of information to share as you go. If you enjoy doing nothing, the tiny pool is perfect for the occasional dip in between lounging with a good book. Our room was very simple, but had everything we needed. And did I mention the food? We won’t forget our stay, thanks to everyone at Las Chimeneas for a fantastic few days.

Ramon is a great host, he on his own makes the place amazing. His breakfast skills are exactly what you need, the local oranges very tastefull. Come here for some peace, rest, nature and quality of life. Eat at Pepé, just around the corner.

RECOMENDED to all PILGRIMS and non-pilgrims. Hands down best hotel I have stayed in on the Camino. The hotel will pick-up/drop off pilgrimers from the Camino in Huéneja, If needed. Hotel & restaurant great value for money! The rooms are completely new, modern, practical and silent. Bed is super comfy. The cleaning is spotless. Minibar with free water, hair dryer, towels , all toiletries and coffee machine (incl. decaf) are provided. In case you should miss something, ex. Toothbrush, Sara from the reception will give you one. The restaurant is EXCEPTIONAL. I went with Chefs recommendation (who is also owner) and wasn’t let down. I am picky about fried stuff and steaks, but the croquetas and steak I had there were amazing! Don’t skip desert and have some lokal wine. Also the restaurant itself is beautiful, full of natural light with Mountain views. Make sure to let Sara known you will be eating there, as locals come here to dine as well. Last but not least, the owner Luz and her Belgian husband were the kindest people I have met. They genuinely took an interest in helping me for no other reason than their good will. i even got creatively made ice packs for my lesions. I was about to give up, but thanks to Luz and her husband I could continue my Camino! Note, leaving this place will be hard. Maybe plan two nights here, it’s a great place to rest and fuel up after crossing the desert. You won’t find anything like this later on!
