This is the second time I have visited Melilla. Before that I didn't have the opportunity to stay at the Parador De Melilla, I stayed at another hotel. But I kept walking and walking up the hill and into the grounds of the Parador De Melilla to see the magnificent view of the city itself, the port and the sea. A few years later, I decided to visit Melilla again. This time I stayed at the Parador De Melilla hotel. When I made my booking, I asked to be accommodated on the top floor. Unfortunately, I was accommodated on the 3rd floor out of 6. The view from the window and the balcony was stunning. The panoramic view of the city and the nearby park was excellent. Partial view of the port and the sea. The room is spacious. The bathroom is large. There is a small fridge. One slight drawback might be that the staff don't speak English at all or only partially, so for non-Spanish speakers this could be a personal disaster. The restaurant has an „A LA CARTE“ catering system and the menu is only in Spanish, so it was a bit of a vacuum from the start, as I didn't even know how to ask for food or get a cup of tea at breakfast. The same situation with not knowing the language happened during dinner. All sorts of translation apps on my phone came to the rescue. So the very next day I went to breakfast with a small baggage of Spanish words: omelette – „TORTILLA“, water – „AGUA“, and at dinner I asked for fish – „PESCADO“, vanilla ice-cream – „HELADO DE VAINILLA“, orange juice – „ZUMO DE NARANJA“, and what is most important, I was served everything and it was all delicious. Thank you to the wonderful hotel staff.

A very nice and lovely hotel in the center of Melilla, in a beautiful street. Easy to find it and a short way to the main square, park, restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly. We were given a wonderful room with a balcony and the view to the old castle. The room had everything necessary, including even toothbrush and shaving set :) Breakfast costs 6 euros but it is very big and tasty, and the hotel restaurant itself is beautiful. There you can also have lunch and dinner.

Melilla is not usually on your premier touristic "bucket list", but it is for sure site that you have to visit for a lot of specific topics. It is Spanish town in Africa, in is mix of the culture, religions, there you can enjoy the best of both Africa and Europe, food, culture, atmosphere. Not to forget some nice sandy beaches in Melilla or in it's surrounds. There beside, you can visit one big town of Morocco - Nador. Even more interesting, beside, are the fringes of Sahara desert which offers possibility to feel various experiences. The most important for me is that in Melilla live open and kind people and it will be one of the most important reasons to visit it again. Can't wait.

An interesting place with musea, shops and beaches. Plenty of food choices for the foodies with very reasonable prices. Book a table at La Legion on Saturday or Sunday for amazing local fresh food, plenty of fish and meat choices. Melilla la vieja is definitely worth to explore

The moderno architecture is very interesting!

The moderno architecture is very interesting! This is a very nice town to stay one day and one night on your way to Marocco. It's very easy to cross the border and take a shared taxi to Nador. Not shure I would go here and back fron Spain. Take the plane from Malaga by the way. If you are really into architecture you might want to stay longer and even get some litterature or a guide. Food and transportation is cheap.

Melilla is a hidden gem of Spain I think. We were there right after Christmas, the weather was rather warm (around +20 C), the city was wonderfully decorated and very lively in the evenings with restaurants full of people, music playing everywhere and lots of entertainment including entertainment for children. The nature is stunning, especially parks. Architecture is also quite nice, also there is an ancient castle. In December there were not many tourists and what amazed me most - almost nobody speaks English, even at the airport, so prepare to speak Spanish :D Speaking about airport, it is so near that we just walked from there to the center of the city in 40 minutes. Prices are quite low as Melilla is a tax-free zone.

What was extraordinarily wonderful was the people: so kind and friendly. The lovely green parks were a bastion of harmony and conviviality. Even the dogs seemed happier. It was burning hot during our stay in October but the evenings brought breezes. Melilla seemed not to be as expensive Madrid or Barcelona. The museums were well done and modern. We loved the parks. A few suggestions: the cat population is a bit too much because in certain areas they poop and this creates flies. Another suggestion: about 45 percent are Arabs yet almost there little mention of them not of the contribution they and their predecesors, the Moors, made throughout the ages, especially after 1,500s. Otherwise it is a delightful city that I recommend visiting.

The hotel is centrally located and close to all main attractions. The receptionist was very helpful pointing out many of the important landmarks on a map and suggesting places to eat. The room was adequate and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and there was a selection of dishes available.
