We used local buses to get around, so cheap, less than 2 euros to Malaga ! You do need to embrace bus travel as a holiday experience as sometimes they are late but hey you are on holiday and not in a rush! Mijas Pueblo is very pretty we loved the variety of restaurants, shops, gardens and wonderful views, we coud walk into the village and back although sometimes a taxi back to Hearts and Home was taken, around 6 euros. It was the festival honoring the patron saint, the Virgen de la Peña, on September for 6 days whilst we were there, a fantastic example of the community coming together.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely quaint town. Good selection of bars and restaurants. Not a late night/clubs place which was great for us. Lots of families and couples. Views down over the bay to Fuengirola and Benalmadina. Beautiful location, excellent cheap municipal car park but gets busy early evening, lots of restaurants, people helpful and friendly, great views of the Med, supermarkets well stocked. We had visited Mijas before on day trips, but we loved our 10 night stay - such a gorgeous town to walk around, and to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening meal. Mijas is a lovely town with much to offer.
Mijas is a lovely town with much to offer. It is well served by a number of bus routes. There are a good range of shops and restaurants. If walking is your thing, there are a number of walking trails to the north of the village. The routes are marked, the paths are rocky and loose, so good ankle support would be a recommendation, as would walking poles. Fuengirola is 3 miles down the hill on the coast. The apartment and upgrade recently done was excellent and super modern. 3 great bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Open plan kitchen and living area was great and spacious. Everything you’d need. Really spacious and outdoor terrace overlooking the street was great relaxing space too. The pool was literally right opposite the apartment so was good to just pop out to pool and back to apartment.
