Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.   

Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.

Travellers can park their car and explore the old town of this beautiful resort on foot.  Home to 17 km of Blue Flag sandy beaches like Granatilla, the Playa de los Genoveses and the Playa de Monsul, the modern part of this coastal resort is an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, sailing and surfing. Golf lovers can visit the 18-hole courses of the Marina Golf and Desert Springs.

    It is easy to get around Mojacar as there is a good bus...

    It is easy to get around Mojacar as there is a good bus service. From the excellent beach areas a bus will take you up to the town of Mojacar itself when on every Wednesday there is a small but lively market. There are some lovely gift shops with some interesting and unusual gifts and souvenirs. For those who like to shop, a visit to the Centro Commercial is definitely worthwhile. Apart from lots of interesting shops to brows there are some lovely restaurants, bars and cafes.

    Lovely busy area, plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, near the beach easy access to other surrounding areas if you have a car, all within 15 mins travel. Beaches Hotels Restaurants Definitely worth a visit , downside an hour and 40 mins from Murcia airport by car.

    The Pueblo is beautiful

    The Pueblo is beautiful Narrow streets,white painted buildings and lots of colourful flowers. Plenty of good restaurants/bars. Possibly not for those with limited mobility . The buses to the playa are very regular and cheap.

    Great apartment but you need to get a taxi to town and they are few and far between there is a bus that comes every half an hour but not all night. The apartment in a development with two pools however there are no beds and you will need to buy your own bed if you want to sunbathe there the only other option is to go the beach club but that will cost you 25 euros per day. There is no safe but apart from that it is a bright modern apartment

    Mojacar pueblo is a pretty white village 15 minutes drive from mojacar beach. Lots of shops , places to eat and stunning views. The church in the centre is the only building in the whole village that isn’t white and worth a visit. There is a little bar called Loro Azul been there since 1994 good wine and very friendly hosts. Highly recommend. We ate at La Muralla the views are fabulous and great to watch sunset. Opens at 7-30 get there early as they don’t allow reservations. Good prices pizza was €12 . A nice village probably couple of nights stay would be enough . Most Shops close 2pm -5pm then reopen until about 9pm .

    Mojacar old town is delightful. lovely shops & restaurants , with a lovely lady showing us around the museum, well worth a vist. Also found the well at bottom of hill, thanks to museum lady, charming. Had a car so getting around was easy.

    Warm and friendly staff in reception and in the restaurant really made you feel welcome. Enjoyed having the electric kettle in the room so that we could enjoy an early morning cup of tea - a new addition since our last stay. Perfectly located along the playa to be able to enjoy the wide range of bars and restaurants in walking distance - would be our first choice hotel if we return to Mojacar again. We only had breakfast in the hotel this time

    It was in an excellent location, very close to the beach, restaurants and bars. Fairly quiet, away from the traffic. Breakfast was excellent and very generous. The bus stop to get to Mojacar Pueblo opposite the hotel, very convenient and cheap. Lovely shaded courtyard with a very friendly cât and dog.
