Nice location in a little town very close to Granada. It is not possible to park in front of the house but you can easily find a free public parking on the The accommodation was great, cozy and very comfortable. The kitchen area has all that you need for a holiday. Good communication with the owner.

    The most perfect place I have ever stayed!!

    The most perfect place I have ever stayed!! I almost don't want to write a review because everyone will want to go! :) This was my second time here, and it has become my sanctuary and my happy place, I plan to return every year if possible. The gourmet breakfast is delicious, with different options available every morning, fresh juices, fresh fruit, and excellent coffee! Dinner is fabulous with excellent service, tasty Michelin level food, beyond expectation! The place itself is perched up on top of the hill very close to a beautiful hiking trail called 'Monachil Los Cahorros' - (anyone can do this trail whether you want to do a shorter or longer route). The hike has hanging bridges, caves, streams, uphill and downhill routes! The most tranquil and beautiful spot you will ever visit, whether its a solo trip like me or with family, friends or a loved one! The most amazing views from the hotel (which is a boutique sustainable hotel) - The bed was an absolute dream, and all the rooms are perfect, with beautiful detail!

    Be careful driving through the narrow, winding streets. some of them get narrower as you go and you may have a hard time turning around. The locals are friendly and helpful even if they don't speak English. So are the Police. They arrived quickly and got our car out of a tight alley/street.

    The quality of accommodation was way above expectation in...

    The quality of accommodation was way above expectation in every way. The parking around about was easy, and the welcoming person helped me with it. I took 2 dogs (another was in hospital in Granada for cancer removal surgery, hence the overnight stay) and the cleaner could not have been kinder when I showed him one had shed hair on the sofa! "We have a machine for that!" Brilliant access to a spectacular area for people walking into the mountains, but not quite so accessible areas for dogs on leads. Poor meal in the nearest restaurant. Really well equipped kitchen and bathroom and everything, within the room and the communal areas, was spotlessly clean, with good quality furniture and furnishings. Couldn't fault it. Lovely village.

    The scenery is great, the city is nice.

    The scenery is great, the city is nice. Parking is , if you see a spot it's yours. Did not expect on Sunday that no restaurants were open for breakfast around where the rental was. Recommend to do a little bit more research which was my fault but I don't rent too many places for certain events . Overall a great experience in Monachil.

    The hotel is in a great location for the gorge although it would have been useful to have had some directions at the hotel for how best to get to the gorge as we did not find the river walk on the way there. The hotel is great value for money with a comfortable room although the rooms are a little dated. A really good breakfast was included in the price. When we arrived there was nobody at reception and no-one came if we rang the bell, If this happens just ring the hotel number and somebody will come straight away.

    You can see the perennial snow of the Sierra Nevada...

    You can see the perennial snow of the Sierra Nevada mountains. If you rent a car, you can even go to the top of the mountain range in an hour. Granada is only 10 minutes away by car, so it's also easy to visit Alhambra. I think Monachil is a pretty and peaceful resort town.

    The room was superb. Very clean spacious and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The pool was great. The view was impressive. Breakfast was good but the buffet was a little limited because of the absence of hot and cold holding cabinets. That said the staff were very willing to provide scrambled or fried eggs on request. Dinner was good though some courses were better than others.

    The house is beautifully located, great for hikes in the sierra or visits to Granada. Erik, the host, is very attentive and friendly, all amenities of the house are available to guests. The pool and garden are amazing, perfect to cool off and relax. It really feels like you are staying with friends.
