The hotel was in a good location although not easy to find and there wasn’t free parking on the site. Not far from the restaurants and near the river with a nice walk. I really enjoyed the river side and the city landmarks. I did not enjoy the restaurants, for some reason most of the ones I checked were closed even though it said open on google maps. Lovely town with plenty of great bars and restaurants. Lots of history and old buildings and churches. Stunning river views and easy to get around on foot. The museum of Zamora and the castle were informative and free for oldies like us! The local people were so friendly and helpful. There is easy access to every thing that there is to see.

The centre of Zamora is a gentle 5 minute walk away. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Ares hotel has a co-located shop selling good quality leather bags, pottery, bedding and towels. Very easy to walk to all the sites in the lovely town of Zamora which is just delightful. What a find this hotel was and also the town.
