This is a rather quirky hotel but very close to where we finished our walk for the day so we were glad we didn’t have to walk too far to find it. very congenial manager. we arrived during siesta but he was able to show us our room etc. The room had an en suite shower/toilet and a little kitchenette which was really convenient for us as we had camping food to use up so saved on eating out. But we couldn’t resist the ice creams at the local pizza restaurant - Pizzeria Julie just around the corner.

The apartment was quite warm – it was 40°C outside and the air conditioning wasn’t turned on, so the place wasn’t cooled when we arrived. A small air conditioning unit is available, but only in the living room. We had to wait a little while for the check-in, but the host, although he doesn’t speak much English, was kind and everything went smoothly. The apartment is older and would benefit from some renovation and definitely more thorough cleaning. Otherwise, it has a certain charm and it’s fine for one night. A unique feature is that the elevator goes directly into the apartment.

Eugenio and Elena's place is awesome! First of all, the appartment had all the commodities as expected, and beyond: It is spacious, luminous, has a big terrace with mountain views, great and equipped bathroom with super water pressure and a spacious kitchen with everything one needs to be able to cook during a short/mid stay. Moreover, we had lots of welcome tiny bits such as chocolates, wine, kitchen stuff like oil, salt and whatnot, even some slippers for the indoors. There is plenty of parking space in the street, in front of the door, in a nice neighbourhood (got to say hi to many neighbours). They were so welcoming of our dog Cora!! And last but not least, we got the welcome and the help of our hosts Eugenio and Elena. They made us feel so comfy and welcome, they live upstairs and are always happy to help with tips of the area, or have some conversation while playing with their daughter in the porch. Thank you so much for the stay at your place, welcome in barcelona for good food and hopefully see you again in Amelie!

The hotel is fabulous. The staff are all really friendly and our dog is always made very welcome and loves meeting the other dogs there. We always stay here when we come to the area and it never disappoints. The studios are well equipped so we often eat on our balcony although there is also a nice restaurant. We needed to contact our bank following a problem and they kindly offered to let us use their phone and were very helpful. The location is perfect for walks in the Pyrenees and Amelie is a lovely little town for food and drinks as well.

    Amélie les Bains is a pretty Spa town at the foothills of the Pyrénées with easy access to the coast and Spain. Most of the accommodation is high rise studio apartments with very pretty views. A lot of people visit to take “ the cure “ at the thermal and Roman baths. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in the lively town. We like the restaurant l’authentique open Tuesday to Sunday. It is very easy to get around by bus and only 1 euro per journey. You can go to Perpignan, the coast or other towns along the valley. Would highly recommend this location.

    The friendliness of the local people, good food and drinks. Very nice scenery and close to the Thermes. Altough, book well in advance!! Accomodation is in the hilly part of the city, close to the Thermes, but if you go on holiday without going to the Thermes there is no use in staying at that place. Better of in city center. Excellent pattisserie and traiteur with reasonable prices. Every Monday from 17h forwards T-dansant on Place Paul Boux or so???

    It’s in the mountains and the thermes city.

    It’s in the mountains and the thermes city. However, when we visited it was closed. There's another city Ceret nearby which was more lively and have younger crowd. I would say Amelie les Bain is more for hot/ cold springs and curing some health issues plus walk in the mountains.

    What a magical location! The apartment was spacious and had a fabulous view from the balcony. Only a short walk into the village that has little bars and restaurants. We found a fabulous one back over the river with outside garden seating. On site at our hotel you had access to the river which had pools you could swim in and there was ample parking on site. Breakfast was lovely and our dog was welcome in all areas of the hotel!

    Apart from a very local bar over the road there is nowhere to eat or drink apart from going into town. We did like the peacefulness of the hotel and the swimming pool area which is good for sunbathing!
