    Beaugency is a charming town on the banks of The Loire.

    Beaugency is a charming town on the banks of The Loire. It is very pretty and well maintained and the little canals which run along some of the streets are lovely. The Grand Hotel de L'abbaye is definitely the place to stay and Restaurant l idée is most definitely the place to eat. Have visited this charming place before and will be back in the future!

    Beaugency is a convenient stopover for us. It is a lovely old village with many bars and restauants but with modern conveniences (supermarkets etc) nearby, and not too far from the motorway network.

    Lovely town with historic centre and market on a Saturday. Several restaurants and bars to choose from. Friendly locals. Lovely area for nature lovers / wine lovers and history lovers. Close to Orleans and Blois and chateaux.

    Beaugency is a typical Loire-side town and ancient bridging...

    Beaugency is a typical Loire-side town and ancient bridging point. Well served by the primary routes along the valley the outskirts are those of a modern, bustling market town with all the facilities one would expect. The heart of the old town is found on the northern end of the graceful bridge and is centred on the masive defensive feudal keep. No elegant rennaissance palace, this. A stamp of lordly power from the 12th. & 13th. centuries the castle has echos of Joan of Ark and The Hundred Years War, right down to the present with a major surrender of German forces at the end of the last war. In the old town there are fine buildings and narrow alleys, a charming square with cafes, the excellent coaching inn (L'Ecu de Bretagne), and the remains of the seigneural domaine around the keep. Walks along the river are a little difficult to navigate as the old main road runs along the bank and is very busy. All-in-all, a lovely town for a long stay to explore the Chateaux, the wines and the history of the Loire

    A kind welcome, to this beautifully presented hotel in the delightful town of Beaugency. Highly recommended for a stay, just on the edge of the centre of town so close enough to be into the action as we stepped out the door, and quiet enough to sleep beautifully! Secure off road parking, locked at night for those who have a car, bike or motorcycle; just let the property know in advance and it’s first come first served for approx 6 car park spaces. A nicely presented and reasonably priced breakfast which we paid for extra. We shall be back!

    Nice small hotel in beatiful town, full of old-fashion atmosphere. Pleasant neaty rooms, and the building. Parking near hotel if you find free places. But in general free parking is easy to be found.
