Our hosts were fabulous. Brantome is a favourite destination but this was our first time at Chou Chou. The chef provided some inspired menus to suit our vegetarian tastes. An artist at work, and pretty exceptional for France. The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Couldn't have been better.

Perfectly located for our two day stay. Right in the middle of things on one side of the Dronne River. Restaurants were plentiful and just a short walk away as well as activities such as shopping, kayaking, and historical monuments. Night walks are magical. Dany, the owner, was a delightful host and very accommodating. The room was comfortable and the bath area was modern.

An idyllic rural retreat very close to Brantome. The communal areas are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was very generous and delicious. The bed is extremely comfortable. Most memorable about our stay was Anne and her mother Clo. They went so far out of their way to rescue us when our car broke down and did not rest until they had done everything possible to ensure our vehicles recovery and repair. We will be eternally grateful for that support from our guardian angels. We look to returning again soon. Extremely good value for money.

    One of the prettiest places I have visited. It looks like it came out of a fairytale. It was wonderful to walk around the village because everything look so pretty. It’s perfect for slow traveling. The products there didn’t seem overpriced, so we bought a lot of nice souvenirs.

    Brantome is an extremely picturesque small town and is a major attraction for tourists, particularly during high season. The varied shops and cafes provide opportunities to browse while the weekly market is a must-see if you are able to visit. The whole town is a network of small streets and bridges to explore with the river, parks and abbey providing photo opportunities at every turn. Visit the top floor of the abbey for spectacular views and an insight into the construction of the building. Great central location for touring the area.

    Brantôme is a lovely little town, great for a day trip or overnight stay. Very picturesque, with plenty to see and do. Good choice of restaurants but they fill up quickly so need to be booked fairly early in the day.

    The hotel has a lovely pool and very good restaurant both for dinner and breakfast. We went to watch a stage of the Tour de France which coincidentally went right past the terrace on the front of the hotel. We were invited to join to watch it and were served food and drink all afternoon. What an experience! We will definitely be back.

    Small but comfortable, clean, quiet (apart from adjoining rooms shower etc) room and very friendly host. Lovely continental breakfast which was great value for money. Very convenient for walking into Brantôme.

    Fantastic quiet hotel . Been there many times- home from Home . Food delicious but menu doesn’t change although there are specials. Pool with honesty bar . Great helpful staff. Bed comfy ; bathroom well equipped
