Go to Plage du Cap Rousset, just to the East of Carry le Rouet, which is ideal if you like snorkelling as this is Parc Marin de la Côté Bleue, protected marine reserve. Lots of fish to swim amongst. A nice little port village with quayside restaurants and good views. The port is not ideal for a family break I would say as the beaches by the port are very small but there may be others round the corner! There's a bracing and interesting seaside walk taking you a couple of kms along the cliffs just above the sea with explanatory boards along the way.
