Everything is very central, so there is no need for...
Everything is very central, so there is no need for transport unless you want to visit outside the town. The beaches are clean and safe with lifeguards on duty. There are many restaurants and all the restaurants we tried produced excellent food and wine at very reasonable prices. The walk to Port Vendres takes around 30 minutes on a very safe path. It's well worth a visit. There is a large choice of cafes and bars and a good market on Saturday mornings. The coastal path to Argeles Sur Mer is a lovely coastal walk, it's quite steep in places but well worth the effort. Carcassonne is less than 2 hours on the train. We went on a Sunday for 2 Euros return. It's a historical city famous for its mendiaval citadel.Guest review byGibson - 10.0

Collioure is a nice upscale beach town with good shops, several beaches, and good restaurants. It is a good place for families and children. A beautiful coastal town, nicely quiet off season but still enough open for a good choice of places to eat and drink. Sea warm enough (for me) to swim in, very clean and beaches right in the centre of town.
