The city may semble what Aix-en-Provence was 50 years ago. With the real Provence flair. And the unique Shrine of St. Joseph, with a recognized apparition in 1660. Cotignac is a gem in the back country.
Cotignac is a gem in the back country. Close to many interesting places, the village itself is captivating. From walking the Main Street Cours Gambetta to venturing up the cliff faces to see the troglodyte caves, there is so much to do. One of the highlights was the sacred trinity church on the top of the hill. But the best part about the town was the delightful restaurants and staff. Located in a cozy square, fully automated, the room and bathroom were gigantic. A lot of natural light and very clean and silent. The next day was the market day of the city, in the square the hotel was located. Fresh fruits, regional products and artisans. Lovely. It’s very near the village center.
