Ferrette is a pretty small town, but absolutely beautifully located in the foothills of the Alsacian Jura, near the border with Switzerland. The area is not very touristic, but if you are looking for a perfect landscape for hiking, especially in late summer/early autumn, this is the region you have been looking for. One of the culinary specialties of the Sundgau, which is the southern part of the Alsace, is Carpe Frite, fried carp. Make sure you sample it in one of the restaurants that is part of the 'route du carpe frite'. My personal preference would be a stay at the Hotel Restaurant Collin in Ferrette that also offers other regional specialties at very moderate prices.Guest review byPeekelharingGermany

She effortlessly accommodated our request for a room with high ceilings, and even let us check in early. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned but the village itself is quite picturesque.
