We loved the quirkiness of this traditional hill top apartment. It was clean, well equipped and included all the essentials for a short stay. Our host provided biscuits, tea, coffee and some dried herbs. Great nearby restaurant, and we were able to buy fresh produce from Saturday market. Perfect instructions were provided to find and enterthe apartment

I loved sitting on the balcony sipping a coffee and overlooking the river. Spacious and comfortable apartment. There was a beer in the fridge and coffee in the table. Roaslie was very friendly and welcoming.

    Quiet town, damaged by recent flooding, friendly people, lovely hiking. The place is not highly developed for tourism, which is what I liked. A little bakery with excellent local specialties, a small grocery store also featuring local cheeses, a single restaurant with few customers, a pizzeria. A lot of local character and authenticity. Hiked to Saorge and Bergh Inférieure, both very interesting and beautiful. Saorge has more restaurants and shops and expats but is still much quieter and more authentic than similar towns in more accessible regions which are 100% tourist traps; Saorge still has some inhabitants. Fontan is simply isolated and rustic.
