Giverny is a beautiful village and the gardens of Claude Monet are stunning! There are plenty of cafes and restaurants and a genuinely lovely atmosphere. However, even in late September, there are large groups and tours filling the gardens and the surrounding streets during the day. It was great to spend the night in Giverny as the town...
It was great to spend the night in Giverny as the town became enchanting once the tourists had left. In the morning before the tourists arrived we were able to have a relaxed breakfast with locals and take a pleasent walk. This area is as charming as can be with the quaint houses and gorgeous gardens. There is very little signage and it is a bit more difficult to find anyone who speaks English --we arrived on Train from Paris and there was NO -one in the Vernon station to help us find a cab or ANYTHING. But that was Vernon. Giverny was lovely but again --bring your translation guide!Guest review byjoy - 10.0

I find it so hard to say as I loved everything.
I find it so hard to say as I loved everything. Quiet, birdsong, beautiful flowers, tranquil and fabulously French. I hope it never changes. It has such charm with a nob back to better times. Everyone we met was friendly, hospitable and helpful. I could not fault it. I would love to return as we both commented, we didn't have long enough to explore and then relax in the wonderful surroundings.Guest review byLaurain - 10.0

Some favourite activities: 1. Loved Monet's house and garden (we went round the house twice). 2. Good weather allowed us to eat a delicious evening meal in the garden of the Hotel Baudy. 3. An easy stroll, through fields, to the bank of the River Seine. 4. The owner provided fresh croissants, pain au chocolate and bread every morning. Fresh orange juice, coffee jam and butter were also provided. The house the studio was attached to was beautiful and the gardens were lovely. The house was also very close to Monet’s garden and house, a 5 minute walk. The village of Giverny was idyllic.
