A warm and welcoming city, on the Mayenne river. We were only there for one night, so had little time to explore, but we had a wander en route to our restaurant that evening. There is quite a bit to do in Laval and it is quite a vibrant city, we feel that 5 days is about right as we stayed too long and do go and see the cheese museum as it’s fab. An interesting. lively town with a noticeably high population of younger people/students. A must see is the chateau, I had free access to the venue to view the well presented art collection, I believe the content is changed on a regular basis. There are plenty of good restaurants and not just pizzas and burgers. There are boats available for hire on the river Mayenne but best to check prior to visit as they were not running when I visted in mid May.Guest review by7953France - 10.0
What a great city.
What a great city. I wish I'd have been able to stay longer so that I could see more of it. I found everyone very kind and everyone I met went out of their way to help me (I don't speak French). The Saturday market is well worth attending if you can. Be sure to get there early so you have plenty of time to check out all the vendors. We were lucky the weather became sunny and we could sit out on a couple of occasions. We were just in Laval for a couple of nights and didn’t go to the Spa, but loved the location of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room felt spacious, the shower area was fantastic- easy to use shower head, hot water and spacious new shower area.
