I received a phone call from the host as I finally reached the top of my long climb into the Ardèche during a long distance cycle race. Enquiring as to when I would arrive. I explained my fatigue and that it might take some time. I was assured that this was not a problem. On arrival I was greeted very warmly, shown my room and invited to dine too. During my whole 9 day, 2700km trip this was the only time I felt I just had to stay for breakfast, so kind were my hosts. The location is truly spectacular. By night the sense of peace and tranquility is extraordinary.

Wonderful to find good accommodation that welcomed my dog with the additional bonus of a truly exceptional evening meal. Fabulous location, the hosts Marine and Matthieu were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful garden with all their animals. The room was comfortable. Marine and Matthieu had recently bought the hotel and were in the process of improving it. They are creating a warm and comfortable hotel for the future with their lovely family

I walked in to Monastier on the GR 70 . The location is a former High St. shop. The owner & host is very good & very kind - making a reservation for me for Dinner for example. Breakfast was excellent

A very individual yet classy style in a traditional French stone house in the middle of the Ardèche area. Very uncomplicated and super friendly staff, and the restaurant serves ingenious and delicious food (dinner & breakfast) in a distinctly French style environment: warm atmosphere, unobtrusive music, sympathetic guests. Plus, the hotel has a sauna and whirlpool for recreation. All was perfect, it feels like home. We are experienced travellers and see a lot of hotels - this is a top pick. We were surprised to find an ambiente this perfect in this charming little village of Montpezat.
