The Batterie de Longues-sur-Mer was only 5 minutes by car and Bayeaux 15 minutes. D-Day beaches close by as well. Arromanches musee du debarquement very close and a real highlight. Restaurants available in the next town Port-en-Bessin-Huppain.Guest review byMikeNetherlands - 8.0
Great location for seeing all of the DDay beaches.
Great location for seeing all of the DDay beaches. Just 5 miles from Bayeux which is a must to visit. There are lots of cycle routes, walks, and bunkers to see in Longues-sur-Mer itself. There is one local shop for essentials but for a full shop you will need a car. We visited at the end of August and it was very quiet so there was no problem finding places to park (all free!) and eat. Obviously visiting around June 6th would be like a different world but I'm sure the atmosphere and sense of occasion is worth it.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom
