A great base to visit some of lesser known sights in France. We had some great tips from our hosts who could not do enough to help. Chateau Rocher, Charroux, Le Meandre de Quelle and the amazing Le Puy de Dome to name a few. Definitely worth trying out this Volcanic part of France and staying here

The property was in a beautiful area right by the river and was equipped with everything you needed. The owners were absolutely amazing as we arrived in the middle of the night due to delays and as the place can be tricky to find once street lights are turned off - we got a little lost, but the hosts stayed up for our arrival and kindly found us and directed us to the house.

The view, the comfy beds, the hostess and their friendly dog, full boxes of toys upon arrival (legoes and cars for our boys, plus sets of drawing since they learnt ours like to draw❤️). Check in at 16h but they are nice to let us come 2 hours in advance, we end up extending a night cos the kids wouldn’t want to leave anymore. The pictures didn’t do the place justice, you can see the chateau de chouvigny right above the property, the property was actually a dépendance of the castle once. Very nice and calm place to stay.

    Very pretty small village

    Very pretty small village A couple of bars and restaurants with limited opening hours The "plage" (beach) is actually grassy area on river bank -still nice place to sit or swim There are activities such as walking, kayak etc in local area We ate in auberge de maitre henri one lunchtime and it was very nice Les tarteaux campsite bar is a good place for a drink in the evening St eloy Les mines is nearby for 2 supermarkets, independent shops and also a lake with sandy area
